www.RetireOnYourTerms.com Explains How to Prepare for and Live in Retirement. Website describes how annuities can provide a secure retirement

Reston, VA-Consumers are increasingly surfing the Net to help them plan for retirement. While there are plenty of resources to help people save for retirement, there is far less information on what to do with the money once they retire or how to ensure that they don't run out of money altogether ... until now. The NAVA (NAVA) and website developer Info-One have recently launched a consumer website, www.RetireOnYourTerms.com. Named after the tag line of NAVA's one-year-old public education campaign, the website provides educational information about creating and managing retirement income and has become the Internet's most comprehensive website for consumer information on the benefits of annuities.

"Managing finances in retirement is becoming much harder as people live longer and have to rely more and more on their personal savings," says Mark J. Mackey, president and CEO, NAVA. "In fact, the Social Security Administration recently estimated that baby boomers will have to depend on their personal savings for more than 60% of their retirement income. Consumers need a resource like RetireOnYourTerms.com that educates them about what they can do with their savings when they retire and how annuities can give them peace of mind by providing them with retirement income for life."

"RetireOnYourTerms.com provides easy-to-understand text, interactive graphics, online calculators, and a user-friendly glossary. Consumers can even take a quiz to test their knowledge level. The site also has storefronts that contain information about annuity companies and their products," says David Shapiro, CEO, Info-One.

"RetireOnYourTerms.com is a logical next step in our organization's effort to help Americans live a more secure retirement," says Mr. Mackey. In 1999, NAVA launched an industry-wide public education campaign with the tag line, "Variable Annuities: Retire On Your Terms." The educational efforts of NAVA and its members include brochures that describe variable annuities in generic terms, company marketing materials that incorporate the campaign tag line and logo, text and advertising supplements that are published in personal finance magazines, and a new consumer-friendly guide, "Creating Retirement Income," available in bookstores nationwide.

Established in 1991, NAVA is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to increasing public knowledge and acceptance of annuity and variable insurance products. NAVA's mission is to promote the growth, acceptance and understanding of annuity and variable life products to retirement-focused Americans; to provide educational and informational resources to its members and the public; to protect consumers by encouraging adherence to the highest ethical standards by insurers, distributors and all other participants in the diverse industry; and to protect and advance the interests of its members. Info-One (www.info-one.com) provides product, service and technology solutions to the financial services industry.
